Who are the up and coming guys that would be a coordinator level caliber coach on either side of the the ball that could replace an Aranda or Brady in the event one of them left, or even a young coach at a non P5 school that could be a guy stepping into a P5 role at another school?

I’m looking for obscure names and not retreads or established coaches, but that next diamond in the rough.

Will Hall is still pretty young but is now building his resume as D1 coordinator.

How soon do you see these guys taking that next step where they could be an LSU/SEC target?

Rhett Lashlee, the OC at SMU, is up for the Broyles Award as the top assistant, and that's with 13 of the 15 candidates coming from P5 schools. He may or may not count as one of your retreads - he spent time as a young OC at Auburn and then moved on to UConn and I'm not sure why - some of you may be able to fill me in. I get the feeling it was some sort of disagreement with Malzahn over playcalling or some such but he's only 35 or so and SMU has a top 10 offense. Also, he was a backup QB for Arkansas from 2002 - 2004 behind Matt Jones, so he's got some SEC ties going for him.

What about some guys that are position guys that you see getting coordinator jobs at smaller schools, or is that too hard to tell?

Someone had to take the blame for the lack of QB development.

I'm shocked a bigger school hasn't hired David Yost away from Texas Tech or Utah State before that.
