You say that, but they could have made the same play last year. They went for a rising head coach from lower in the G5 instead. I could see them looking there again rather than taking more of a risk.

I’d go hard after Schumann if I were the wave. He seemingly hasn’t gotten a ton of buzz for any of the big jobs, but he’d bring defensive minded continuity and has worked for Kirby for a long time

That would be a smart hire, but he’s going to get a P4 offer, and likely in this cycle once the dominos start to fall downstream.

I get Baker taking that gig because he’s an alum, but up and coming P4 coordinators don’t really have to take G5 gigs anymore. The best can wait and they will eventually get a P4 offer.

Fritz was no spring chicken. And no one stays in the G5 long if they win.

Forgot about that dude. Would like to see him get a good AAC job. Memphis or USF also if those coaches leave.

You can frick off with that. Frank failed miserably at UTSA….Tulane went with the ‘lifetime coordinator’ with Curtis Johnson. If they hired frank they would lose a ton of season tickets.

Frank is one of the best at recruiting New Orleans. That’s no secret. Coaching in texas and not really having any texas ties to you is really tough. The high school coaching association in texas has influence in those jobs. Similarly to New Orleans, you need to have some sort of New Orleans ties on staff, and if he is the head coach I think he would do an amazing job.
