Yuuup, Sumrall basically tripled his salary from $1M @ Troy to $3M @ Tulane. He knows the area well and previously coached at Tulane under Curtis Johnson. Solid defensive mind and I could see Sumrall coaching somewhere like Mississippi State, Arkansas, South Carolina in the future.
My brother played at Troy under Larry Blakeney and is still very close to the program. Yesterday he was part of a zoom conference call with the AD and other prominent school decision makers regarding the next head coaching hire.

I think most (realistic) Tulane fans are expecting a 1-4 year stay for Sumrall.
If he gets us 9+ wins a season I will personally write a letter of recommendation to his next school.
