Tucker's Buffaloes posted a 5–7 record (3–6 in the Pac-12) In 2019.
Tucker finish the abbreviated 2020 season with a 2–5 record.
And he’s beaten 5 bad teams in 2021.

Per wiki:
On January 18, 2013 Tucker was named defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears.[10] Following one of the worst defensive seasons in Bears' history in 2013, Tucker was criticized by the media.[11] As a result, the team fired two of Tucker's assistant coaches, linebackers coach Tim Tibesar and defensive line coach Mike Phair.[12] The Bears replaced them with Paul Pasqualoni as defensive line coach and Reggie Herring as linebackers coach.[13]
On January 20, 2015, following another record-setting low defensive season for the Bears in 2014, Tucker was replaced by former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio under new head coach John Fox.[14]

Why are people so bitter about Tucker being a leading candidate. Everyone with 1/2 a brain knee that if O was fired he was going to be given very heavy consideration. Now it’s a surprise? This was expected by most that had an sense of where this administration wants LSU to go forward. Tucker has done a decent job at Michigan State. The last guy we got from Michigan State did pretty well.

His name has been almost non existent up until this past week.

Because Tate and co. (Temple) are leaking it.

What? By who? Everyone I have talked to has said he is on the short list. Tucker, Kiffen, Napier. Reach out to Shaw and Franklin, but no expectation either of them have any interest. This is not new.

not saying i agree, but LSU has been hiring people left and right because of their skin color.

Seriously, I never heard of this guy till today. This website has been kicking around the same list of 8 or so coaches all week and his name wasn't on it.
Looking at his resume, it's a joke that his name is even being floated for this job.

So what if they hire a white guy?

They may lose 4 games to close out the season.
Definitely a much tougher stretch coming up.

Depending upon who it is it could be frustrating or exciting. Like any person. Race should not be a factor.
I think Tucker is about to catch a ton of losses to close out the season, but we shall see.

If they hire a white guy it better not be because his skin color is white. It better be because he's a fantastic coach who has had tremendous success and can come here and win championships.

So we are considering guys who do "decent" jobs.
That's concerning. Just don't believe he is anywhere near proven enough.

Two of my top 4 are not white guys. Tucker isn’t one of them though. Tucker shouldn’t even be in the conversation. I would take Napier over him. He is not a good coach.

So is there any scenario in some of y’all’s minds where LSU hires a black Coach and isn’t for diversity reasons? Is it possible that we hire a black coach simply because he is the best candidate available?

This angle is getting so tired already. This place has been talking about James Franklin all week and nobody has said he was a diversity candidate.

Sure, but not Tucker.
Many would love Franklin. Some would love Aranda but I assume he is Mexican though? I don't even know for sure, but it doesn't matter to me.
Aranda is one of my favorite LSU coaches of all-time, but I am not sure I would want him as HC just yet. He is looking great at Baylor right now.

Their best win is a bad Miami team
They are 7-0
So he can’t do much more than that.
But yeah, I am Interested to see how he does against the actual meat of his schedule. 9-3 would be pretty telling.

By the way, we all wanted Marcus Freeman for DC. Like really bad.
I hated so much that we missed out on him. However, it looks like he made the right move not coming to work under O.
