i think the appeal to miles is stability and longevity. it's why he hired chavis over a young guy coming up the ranks.

i think miles wants a guy who he isn't going to have to replace/change offensive or defensive scheme/language every two to three years. it sets the team back that year. he is concerned with the program long term.

you follow all the great programs that have a long run at the top, they all have/had stability within their coaching staff's. beamer at v-tech, bowden at f.s.u., joe pa, osborne, fulmer, ect.

when bowden wobbled, he lost richt, he lost his lbr coach that went to n.c. state. his defense was the stable because mickey andrews. when fulmer lost cut, he wobbled. his def was the stable with chavis.

miles believe in stability in return for longevity success.

this is such weak reasoning. Get the best guy possible. Saban did alright w/ his enormous staff turnover. miss the UA game last night where they highlighted his '04 staff? LSU did alright w/ an elite DC in '07 that went on to be a HC
