They have been an absolute disaster in the front office. Chip is already very questionable on talent eval, so he needs help (if they keep him).

That front office has put together a craptastic roster, also add in the fact of all those retirements. Chip is getting the blame for their struggles, but he has 0 to work with

Yeah I have no beef with Chip but Baalke should have been gone 3 years ago and I'm also happy Jed's parents are going to clean up this mess. Not that they really know what they are doing either but I'd trust PJ with an NFL franchise over Jed.
Personally I'd keep Chip but I think you also have to let the next GM make that call.

They let baalke completely destroy that roster before they let him go, so that was nice of them

I started to care about football as a little kid watching Joe Montana beat the Cowboys.
I'm a 49ers exile now, like a Cuban living in Miami who will never go home as long as the Castro family is in charge. You can't fix the 49ers with a new GM and/or coach. They need a new owner since it's long past the point where the rightful owner of the 49ers could get his team back.

Seems odd to wait for the tank year (see: $45m in unused 2016 cap space) to do this. They are 1-11 by design. Another GM should have been driving this from the start. York is clueless.
It doesn't translate to W-L but Kelly still has this team playing hard and getting better. No way he or anyone could be doing much better with that roster.

Chip should get more than 1 year. That roster sucks right now, not Chips fault.

Cap space is going to be like 80 million next year as of today
Yorks parents are notorious penny pinchers and I bet they aren't spending the money bc of Tomsula's buyout.
And it is weird timing but regardless of any of that, Baalke is terrible and should be fired
