I think most LSU fans simply want someone who has been an OC in, idk, the last couple decades.

They just want competent QB play and the ability to score points if we have to.

We had that with stud in 2011 (until the last two games) and Cameron in 2013 and everyone hated them too

Hell, we hated Jimbo when he was here. See a pattern?

What makes you think a near 60 year old OC who hasn’t been an OC this century can recruit and develop 4 or 5 Star QB’s?

Did you even attempt to read my entire post? I know it was definitely a wordy, TL;DR type post, but FFS - I addressed all of your concerns.

Now, I'm not a child, so the world isn't going to end if we make this hire like some of y'all believe.

But, I'm definitely not for it, for some really good, supportable, non-emotional reasons.

Our fans are stupid. We know this.

Those stupid fans would cut off their left testicle to get Jimbo back calling plays.

Stud wasn't very good though and Miles definitely forced him to be more conservative at times. We just smothered people in 2011 with talent. Good defenses gave our offenses incredible fits (see UGA and Bama).

Say it as much as you like, idiots will still clamor for Ensminger

Our offense wasnt very good in 2011. Our defense and ST destroyed teams and gave the offense every possible advantage.

And Roger, the reason you and I started this back and forth was simply because I said we can't judge Ensminger as an OC from 2016. That's not being fair, whether good or bad for him.

The offense last year was more productive than this year. I mean, I know you hate any hint of positivity but it is what it is

Why are you so sensitive lately? Great. We've "fired" the guy responsible for this year's offense. So just revert back to last year's guy because the offense was a little better? That's fine too, if that's what you want, but don't cry when someone points out substantive information to show why last year's offense may not have been that spectacular.

So do you agree that trying to mimic the Alabama game plan doesn't work?

With better QB play it absolutely works. Mettenberger played lights out in 2013. Chavis was the problem

Regardless of OC, the offense is not going to really change. Not when you have the defense LSU does

No one, not a single person has claimed it was spectacular.

It would be the same offense regardless

QB play is a more pressing issue than OC

I was being generous and giving you the benefit of the doubt. To be upset about criticism over an average or mediocre offensive performance is worse.

The only upset people here are the gossip queens

Facts = upset

I'll take 32 ppg next year though.

If this is true, it’s only because O would be screwing with the offense no matter who the OC is.

So you are more interested in winning an argument than the truth. Truth is, without that stellar defense and ST in 2011 we would not have sniffed the national championship game.

All of this is a waste of time. Does ANYONE actually believe that an Ensminger/Sullivan led offense put us in position to win in Atlanta? If not, what are we doing it for?

Some of yall dont understand the game at all.

The offense and defense will always play into the larger gameplan.

If you want to know what O wants go back to the early 00s and look at pete carolls philosopht. The qB as a point guard, control the ball, have both playmakers and ball control elements.
