i can't recall if an nfl head coach that wasn't fired has been a hfc in college the next season.
not saying it hasn't happened, but can't think of any.

By that logic your are also ruling out every good college coach. Dec 15th is the early signing period, how many will still have an unfinished season at that time.

See I just don't agree with this. So basically LSU can't wait for a coach who is good enough to make the playoffs. What if Riley wants to come. Do we just say no we can't wait.
