These 3 numbers explain why Miles stays:

(a) 3.75 - the millions per year he will continue to make at LSU, which Michigan probably did not match or exceed sufficiently enough.

(b) 7 - yrs on his contract that we'll have to pay him no matter what happens on the field; again, Michigan probably didn't come close to this term.

(c) 4 - the number of kids in the house that said we ain't leaving. I truly believe Miles is the kind of man that listens to his family to point of it would take a LOT more money to get him to override their wishes.

they offered slightly more than what he makes at LSU, I dont think the length of the contract was what he wanted either.

1.25 million / year, while a truckload of cash, does not make a substantial lifestyle change to someone already making 3.75 million/year.

Difference - Family, what he already had and could accomplish at LSU and the love shown by all the fans ...........

Yea, same thing I said. But he did say the fans, though they might boo, care about and love LSU football and thats why they are so crazy. A big part of his decision to stay.

You saying the buyout is 26+ million? I'm sure you aren't.

This is exactly what LSU gave Miles. Job security. BTW, he had 4 years before getting the extension, so his buyout was bumped up from $15 million to the $26.

He is here for at least 5 more years regardless of what happens on the field.
The powerball payoff just went up BIG.

Are we sure this (26 Mil)is guaranteed if he were to be fired and we didn't put an out in the contract?
