Has SEC connections. Coached at Bama and grew up in BR.
Has Texas connections. Attended school there and coached most of his life in the state of Texas.

Only question I see is experience but if Chad Morris' name is coming up then I do not see why not the Major.

UH is the Bama of non P5 jobs. He inherited a team with a ton of talent and went 7-4

I really do not see a huge talent gap between UH and the rest of the AAC
A lot of injuries. Kyle Allen did not really play.

He was absolute trash at Alabama in 07. Never been impressed with anything he's done anywhere as an OC. He had a decent first year as a HC but Houston is a successful program and he has more to prove before he gets that type of shot

He took a Bama team that did not score 30 points in a SEC game in 2006 to scoring 30
In three games in 2007.
Greg McElroy credits Applewhite in his development.

I do agree he may need another year.
He was someone that some people at Ole Miss wanted. Just wondering why their in state rivals are not looking at him.

He would be in way over his head.

So I say hire him.

They didn't have the talent this year that they usually do.

Look for Scott Satterfield,Todd Monken or Pruit to be the next coach at state. Not real excited about any of these.

They were still pretty talented. I’m not saying Applewhite is a bad coach, but I would want to see what he can do over the course of three years at least before going for him.

Then you do not know Major Applewhite then.::::..

Ended Nebraksa's long home winning streak as a
Freshman. The GW pass he took the most vicious hit but it did not phase him at all.
