I think Smart probably thought the Alabama job was his if he stuck around, but may not be as certain any longer.

I don't want anybody from Alabama or from the SEC. Let's us find our own rather than relying on Bama......

I know the name Kirby Smart is really flashy in the college football landscape considering Alabama's defenses during Saban's tenure, but I think it'd actually be a MEH hire.

It's funny his name is being mentioned. I seem to remember a while back some sports writer predicting he would be the future Head Coach at LSU when Les decides to hang up The Hat....
