He looked pretty good as the interim coach at USC, so why not give him a shot if he wants it?

Well, if Miles is fired now, Coach O may be the only HC or former big time HC available and willing to take the job now.

Look at USC tho. When he took over they looked like a legit program. That is why they had such high preseason rankings the last couple of years. Now USC sucks again. I think it is a testament to how good he is. Just saying

He could be Scott Frost' new Defensive Coordinator.

His downfall at OM wasn't game management (although it wasn't great, either). It was his inability to administer a program and lead his assistants. Ole Miss was a mess when he left, but it wasn't for lack of talent. He recruited very well, but that was really all he accomplished.

What he did at USC shows growth on the in-game side, so that's good. However, his struggles to run a program are still a big unknown. He didn't have to set up systems or organize anything at USC. He just stepped into a roll where all of that was done, and where he could focus solely on coaching.

Based on his USC performance, he should get a look at DC if there is a coaching change. I think he has earned that. However, he needs to go to a smaller school and prove what he has learned on other areas before a program the size of LSU takes a shot on him as a head coach.
