This Kelly love reminds me of the Schiano love...

Everyone had him pegged for the Miami and/or Penn State job, he stayed put at Rutgers, and has lost a lot his luster since then.
I guess we shall see with Kelly, but from all indications today he will not be taking the Notre Dame job and he is staying at Cincinnati at least through next year.

Schiano had no where near the resume over the length of time Kelly has.

That is highly debatable.

Schiano's record 54-54
Kelly's record at Cinci 33-6
Conference Titles
Schiano 0
Kelly 1
11 Win seasons
Schiano 1
Kelly 2
Then I can throw in all of Kelly's previous HC stuff.

Sure, at Grand Valley State and Central Michigan. He may be great, but he's certainly not the sure thing that a lot of his nut-huggers would have you believe. The homo-erotic love affair with him on this board is bizarre to say the least.

Nothing is ever a sure thing, but I can't think of a much better prospect for a big program.

The biggest thing that bothers me about him is that 15 years into his career, the best job he could muster up was at Central Michigan. And now, at almost 20 years as a HC, Cincinnati is the best job he's been offered(so far). Is there something about him that has made him unattractive to bigger programs up until this point?

Well, for one, he doesn't like black people. Other than that, I'm not sure if there's any other baggage.

There is some negative PR in his history, but again that's the price you pay for being at a small school.
There is a double standard in coaching.

Kelly is at CINCI
Rutgers program win % .503
Cinci's program win % .473

Kelly is 170-57-2
Schiano is 54-54, at the time he was getting all the love his career record was worse. The end of 2006, the peak of his stock he was 30-41).
I don't see at all how this is a reach.
Toss out Kelly's Grand Valley games because it is D2 and his record is 52-22. Still vastly superior to Schiano.
How am I reaching?

For the record I think Schiano is a hell of a coach. He just should have gotten out when the getting was good in 2006.
That said,
Kelly > Schiano

I'd love to see Urban Meyer's stats from Bowling Green/Utah.

So you take a snap shot of a few years. A larger sample size is better. The history of the programs show the two are equivalent.
