Coaching searches used to be simpler. Back before us millennials dropped a pair, ADs and boosters had it easy. They'd simply narrow down their super-secret list of candidates, fly around the country in the dark of night on measly little Cessna 172s, meet with potential coaches in the booth of some remote diner that accepted cash only, make their selection, offer a guy $50,000/year, announce it, and we'd all go on with our marry little ways.

Back then, there were no hashtags, message boards, smart phones, or youtube channels. The only channel that mattered back then was the one carrying Jefferson-Pilot Communications. We depended on good old fashioned reporters to relay the news to us in the morning paper, or, if we were lucky, during the local evening sportscast.

But not anymore. Now, Joe Alleva has to deal with us. Now, millennials have careers, a little money to donate, and the audacity to think we have actually have a say in a collegiate coaching search. Who cares if we've never coached a down of football in our life, or even played it. We know what's really best for a program like LSU. While some of you were slaving away in the oil fields of Louisiana, we were sharpening our football skills with the likes of Johnathan Earl Madden, William Ernest Walsh, and Xavier Box. While you were celebrating a trip to Shreveport for the 1995 Independence Bowl, we were celebrating naty's and super bowls day in and day out. As a matter of fact, I personally won more national championships on Bill Walsh College Football '95 than all of the coaches on Alleva's short list combined.

But I digress.

Now, we act as if this football program belongs to us, and that this is a democracy where Joe and Co. better bend to the will of the people or get the boot. (The leather one, not the golden one). What's worse is we think we have to make our voice heard, and shout our opinions through every medium we have available. Poor Joe. With his measly little $875,000 salary. He's got more problems right now than the electoral college. He's got a rabid bunch of millennials in his ear threatening to throw him off Horace Wilkinson if he doesn't hire the guy who will automatically win us at least 12 national championships in the next decade. He's got a fan base divided. And it's clear, there's only one name who can unite us: Dave Aranda.

But seriously, it'll probably be Fisher.
