Anyone would love to be the coach that resurrected Michigan football. Just not sure it can be done before Les croaks.

It's a great job. The second they stop acting like their guy should take a paycut for the privilege of coaching there the better.

"To be real honest, there's still a lot of heartfelt emotions surrounding that time for me," Miles told MLive on Thursday in Detroit. "It's not something that I go by very comfortably.
I recognize the investment Michigan put in me, and I certainly am in to debt of Michigan and the coaches and the people I was around. It's a debt you want to pay. You want to re-pay. I had recruited an entire building (at LSU), and every coach in the building, we had just won a big time championship. It was very difficult for me to minimize what they had accomplished.
"I really had no other opportunity to visit with anybody until after the national championship game. And they had a coach by the time that came around."

Although I think it's time for Les to go, I don't think he's leaving for 2 main reasons:
1) Michigan is too big of a challenge for Les, and he doesn't want to retire as a failure at his alma mater.
2) Les just does not like change. You can see it in his coaching style.

If Dave Brandon is still the AD after this season, Miles becomes less likely to ever get a shot at the Michigan job. Brandon has a widely known ‘beef’ with Miles, and there are rumors that Miles and Brandon still have issues that resulted from Miles’ behavior as a Michigan coach in the early 1990's (Google ‘Les Miles Gary Moeller” sometime).

Choc's not even close to being the most rabid.
I can think of 4-5 posters on this site NOT named Choctaw who quite possibly would need to have their shoelaces and belts taken away if Miles left.

The laugher scenario is that miles instructed agent not to call and he is sitting by the phone because his ego knows that U m is calling.
Meanwhile Michigan is playing the same game and no one talks to anyone.

I believe this is the perfect timing. LSU coming of a mediocre season so there is no leverage for raises and extensions. If he misses this opportunity it will be too late in his career and in 2 years (IMO) he will be done here and UM will be fully staffed with there new regime. My gut is that if offered, he will accept.
