I disagree. I think the silence is confirmation that Lincoln Riley is our next coach, and has already signed the papers. Its not only what we have heard, its what we have not heard.

1) Woodward would not have put out such a huge offer without a deadline, and just let himself and our future dangle in the wind for days and weeks while his other fallback options could get new jobs elsewhere. I personally believe the deadline was around Sep 10th.

2) We have not heard an announcement by OU that Riley has agreed to an extension for 9-10 million per year, or even that an extension is in the works. If Riley did in fact turn us down it would only be because he has a raise, and he would not turn down a 96 million dollar offer without something signed by OU.

3) We have not heard anything from Riley himself other than "I am the coach at Oklahoma"

4) We have not heard of LSU making any other offers to any other coaches.

If you think about it, the continued silence most likely means Riley will be announced as the new LSU coach after his last regular season game. Just a guess.

Geez...a hire was never going to happen until at least after the final regular season game, barring it was someone who wasn't actively coaching. I'm not sure why some of yall expect differently.

I'm no insider. If we end up with either Riley or Aranda, I think we will be in a very good spot. But we need patience here. We likely won't hear anything concrete until after the aTm game.
