Kirby Smart to UF DC

A guy on our insider board (and I use the word "guy" very loosely in his case) just reported that Freshman CB Cody Riggs tweeted "Kirby Smart" then deleted it and said:

Didn't mean to tweet that

Don't think it's much of a loss for Alabama. Everybody knows Saban is the real defensive coordinator there.

Kirby Smart went on record in an interview recently (last couple of days) and said that his next coaching job would be as a HC.

UF may just be in the process of putting together an unreal staff.

Have to wait and see how Muschamp does as a HC, but I think he will do very well. He is young, hungry, and has the pedigree under Saban, Tubbs, andd Brown.

Weis as OC and Smart as DC would be extremely solid and UF is already loaded to the gills with talent. The class they signed last year was ridiculous.

Do you think the UF job would be a step backward for Smart?

don't get me wrong, smart is a good DC. I just don't want him @ UF cause he wouldn't be here more than a year or so. he's looking to be a HC somewhere and we need coordinators who are willing to stay for a while.

The only reason Smart would come to UF would be to prove that he does not need Saban to be successful.

Not saying he feels this way but that's the only reason I see him switching.

I could see this happening for sure. I think he'd look at it as a chance to prove his self and HIS defense instead of people saying it's sabans doings. Plus he'd get to work with one of his personal friends.

~31-35 points per game..

Fire him, please. He'll fit in well at LSU.

I think he's little bit more likely to get a head coaching job after next year at UF than Alabama. But I just consider it a lateral move.
