I agree, there is a search going on right now. The BOS, AD, et al. are not going to get "Sabaned" on Dec 24th. Again.

I steadfastly refuse to beleive that we have talked to no one and will begin negotiations after Miles announces.
The powers that be ARE talking. Proof will be how fast the new coach is announced after the Miles announcement comes. If there is less than 2or3 days from Miles leavng to new coach announcement, we will know that this part is BS.

NOTE: If part of it is BS then........

I agree. There is no way they would sit on their a$$ while Miles is talking to Michigan. They would at least put their fins in the water.

1) No one at LSU knows if Miles is leaving. (In other words, no "done deal")
2) LSU will make every effort to keep Miles, but most BOS members believe he will accept if UM offers.
3) Saban will NEVER get enough votes to be offered the job. At best, he would get 50%. My source is CERTAIN of this.
4) There have been NO negotiations with other coaches or their agents. Claims to the contrary are just BS.

sounds exactly like what anyone close to the situation would tell a reporter.

which we all know is 100% truth

Now we can all go back to doing what we were doing an hour ago. Thanks for your shot of calmness to our calamity. It's much more easy to believe this than anything out there now.

If you don't think that LSU hasn't been "inactively" talking to interested parties since the rumors started flying in Michigan that Carr may be in his last season then you are nuts. Everyone knew that Miles would be a candidate, and programs like LSU don't sit and wait for something to happen and then go into panic mode at the last minute.

This is BS. My sister is in the same sorority with Jack Del Rio's daughter and she told my sister that they already contacted her dad (Jack Del Rio).

Must be true - sorority girls never lie.

Talking does not = negotiations. Sure, there's been talking, and there will be more talking. Remember, there isn't a job opening, yet.

No one in an official capacity has contacted ANYONE. What some boosters do is out of the control of the decision makers. I can assure you that LSU did not contact anyone.

How would your source know that? There are no doubt many people at work on this issue. Unless your source is someone central like Lombardi I just don't see how they could know who LSU has or hasn't contacted. A janitor, secretary, or someones uncle is not likely to have that kind of definitive information.

It amuses me that the people who are disputing this are doing so based on supposition. (They MUST be contactig people because they don't want to be caught with their pants down, etc) You people don't KNOW anyone with any real knowledge and therefore you KNOW NOTHING. That is what is aggravating about this board. (Although it IS entertaining)

This is probably true and is the most accurate sounding thing that I have heard. The other rumors that are being spread here are probably coming from different factions and involve what they want to see happen and are confident that it will happen. That's human nature, and sense we are dealing with a bunch of type A's, they probably think that if it is what they want, then it is going to happen.

I think that both Saban and Spurrier stay at their respective schools. I think that the powers that be at LSU know this and that is why they are trying to keep Les Miles. He is simply better than anyone else out there. If he goes to Michigan, which I think that he will, I think that we could be in trouble, at least in the short run. Del Rio could be an option, but we will have to wait until mid-January. Likely, we might have another candidate that we haven't even thought of.

The longer that this plays out, the more chance that the Saban group gains steam. Time will move more and more people to look at a Saban hire favorably. If we make the right offer and if he is really miserable at Bama, he might accept. Or, he might relish the opportunity to turn us down. Either way, if there is an active Saban group and Spurrier is out of it, that group will gain steam.

I say that we end up with another candidate though. Just some thoughts . . .

I ASSURE YOU this is no janitor, secretary, or someone's uncle. When the whole story eventually comes out, I expect arse kissing in the highest degree.

If you think these multi million dollar decisions are made in a days time, you are diluting yourself. Hopefully, people have been preparing for all these scenarios for months and months. It was clear Michigan was going to be an issue after they lost their first game of the season.

So, basically you're telling us that LSU is doing NOTHING but hoping that Miles will stay.

Then if he decides to leave, at that time they will BEGIN looking for a coach?

riiiight.
