You’re kidding right? Are you seriously going to act like there has been nothing wrong inside LSU for awhile now? We’ve had one good season in the past decade. The program was rotting from the inside and it was showing up on the field.

All these new coaches are professionals.

New leadership with different voices.

Team first attitude.

"One team, one heartbeat."

I always thought that it was a spot on and an inspiring principle for not just team but also the fans. Except the principle was a ruse more than it was not. Those teams routinely had guys quit ("opt out") during the season and play when they wanted to play. I look forward to a unified team, the whole team ready to kick the shite out of somebody.

Unfortunately, it only took a couple of seasons of a just a few guys being egotistical individuals and putting themselves first over the team. This attitude seemed to grow each year to where we are now. I'm hopeful that BK is the man to change the mindset and fortify the locker room getting rid of all the toxic reminders and carriers.

I realize that with the current landscape of things with the NIL that it is a different time. But, I think great leaders of young men can embrace this change and make it work to their advantage like plenty of other schools have and not skipped a beat. LFG!!!

I thought we would need this when we finally canned les but we managed to let O take us back to the top before the program rot was too much.

The old timers had to go.

It will be interesting to see how Faulk is looked at. He’s only been on staff a couple of seasons, but he’s certainly been around the program forever.

Faulk is unique and probably comes down to his attitude.

Raymond has been shaking us down for years and playing the game to get raises.

Davis only has 1 year here so he is probably fine to stay and seems to have the attitude that Kelly wants.

I have a feeling Faulk will paddle in the direction Kelly wants.

Raymond likely came off as some one that was going to do his thing regardless of the new direction.

Anyone that has ever worked at a worh while company knows that everyone can be replaced. There is no need to melt like some are doing over everything.

The program needed an overhaul and it’s getting it.

Yea agreed, personally I wanted to see Raymond stay, but to your point, no one I above replacement. That evident even in the NFL with players and their attitude.

We went all in on Kelly, so this is the purge we’re getting. Buy-in is key going forward.

When someone new comes in, there's usually pretty high turnover, too.

Thinking about this the drive home from office, which the news about Raymond and Cooks I first saw before leaving.

I'm a true believer in avoiding half-measures. If you are going to do it, do it fully and do it right.

IF, and I am for sure saying if, CBK saw a problem culture or attitude wise with Raymond he has to let him walk otherwise the message to the players is void. So be it.

If it is simply a case, and this is more likely, that Raymond got offered a better deal at UF and CBK chose to let him walk, it was probably for the same reason- he saw something he thinks he can improve on. Again, same net result for a very similar cause.

And if CBK saw something in either case, you can be the players saw it even moreso. That's always the case. It has nothing to do with age or experience- players always see the real coach. Whether it is the loud screaming guy masking his lack of knowledge or if it is the loud screaming guy that has an inner professor- players always see what's behind the curtain.

So CBK has to avoid even a partially unhappy coach who felt he was robbed of glory, money, or responsibility because in the end that coach will half-arse it, and it was a half measure that would be on CBK's shoulders and every damn player would know it.

Often all this gets condensed down to "buy in". But "buy in" is simply the abscence of "opt out". If Raymond wanted out- CBK had to let him walk, no matter the circumstances.

Go find the replacement and make it a good one... move on.
