This board will hammer me with downvotes but I wouldn't hate a Petrino hire. Keep a lot of the recruiting staff in place to account for his lack of ability to do that. The man is obviously a top notch coach.

I'm so sick of people talking about flash in the pan coaches that haven't proven shite like Tom freaking Herman. Most talented team in the American conference by far and won't even appear in their conference championship game. Sound familiar?

also worth noting Saban brought him in as a consultant to show how he ripped apart the Bama D while OC at OSU.
I love O, but he will need to hire coordinators like Herman to maintain success. He's a DL coach and a motivator. Period.

the man went frickin 10-25 at Ole Miss. TEN AND TWENTY FIVE.
With that said, I'd probably still pick Fisher. It'd be a HARD choice, but I just believe Fisher checks off every single thing we're looking for as a candidate, plus his resume provides a HUGE sample size.
If LSU does win out, I don't think I'd blame LSU admin for picking Orgeron though.

the only person that checks all the boxes is fisher but no one really knows if he wants to leave FSU or not. just curious as to what happened or what did he say that makes people believe that he wants to or will leave to come here? yes Tom Herman has done great things as an OC but its still up in the air with him as a HC. he hasn't shown that he can sustain a program long term, he had a good recruiting class last year but so did Strong at Texas. I don't know maybe the reason why I'm on board with giving coach o a chance because everything i bitched about with Miles with in the last few years coach o has changed and improved with in a month.
