The key to landing James Franklin is Coach Chris

James Franklin lost his special teams coordinator Coach Charles womb played a pivotal part during that magical run in 2016 when they blocked the FG and took it all the way back against Ohio State. Franklin knows that he needs to be elite on special teams again to have success in the SEC. Coach Charles is now the head coach at Marshalls.
They have been not as good on special teams cents that loss opting instead to win games with defense. My sauce tells me he is keenly interested in the LSU job bc of the special teams play. He wants to go to a place that already has an answer on special teams.
My sauce is a former LSU football player that played defensive back and yea he was a stud. He told me that Scott Woodward has James Franklin at the very top of his list. He is leveraging the ability to retain Coach Chris on his staff and James Franklin came away impressed enough that he has a very high interest in interviewing for the job.
We will see how further talks go but so far so good.
