What is slightly true, and has been softly hinted at by Shea Dixon on 24/7 is the A&M asses were puckered this off season about LSU probably coming open and they got Sextoned for an extension.
But if Jimbo was so committed that extension would have resulted in an actual buyout for a program like LSU to pay to bag the guy.

Here is a novel concept. He can live in BR, and still own the ranch, and hire somebody he trusts to take care of the steer. It's not that difficult to do.
