The future of LSU football is at a fork in the road...

Alleva either takes us down the path with a young, innovative coach that would strike fear in the rest of the SEC...
Or he can lead us down the path with an enthusiastic Ole Miss re-tread that offers great speeches and claps a bunch...
This is a huge, historic moment in this program's history..

All of the other 306,729 threads on this topic haven't quite hit the nail on the head, but this one...this one...is the one that needed to be made. Thank you OP.

We've been at this fork before. We always went cheap. Lets think big for once.

As an Arkansas fan shouldn't you still be cleaning up the blood still on the field from an interim coach arse whipping?

That's a false dichotomy and completely based on your emotions. I'd certainly vote for this young Coach you imagine, but you can't force a guy to take a job. And if he doesn't, everybody else just kind of blends together in a big soupy meh.

We didn't give him a blank check as I remember. We did pay him, eventually.

Everyone in the industry was floored that we paid him $1.2M. Emmert was a visionary and saw what Saban would bring.

Don't forget people like ponamsky culotta and their boss, plus a handful of ex players. Willingly and selfishly leading us down the path of mediocrity.

We need vision today more than ever.

Agree , most are thinking it's a ease call to keep Coach O , we have several more coaches that fill the needs here at LSU better that O

I think we made him the 5th highest paid coach at the time. I don't remember if he ever won 10 games at MSU. A lot of people were surprised we paid that much at the time.
