He’s a young defensive mastermind. He’s fielded elite defenses at 2 different schools, one of which with significantly less talent than programs he finished ahead of.

He’s well respected and has a ton of connections. He’s very cerebral and well-spoken (won’t embarrass us with yaw yaw gumbo talk). He is young enough to understand that the game is different today. Spread kills and he can attract a young, offensive minded killer to compliment his defensive scheme. I believe Aranda truly loves LSU; he could have jumped ship for A$M but he chose to stay here for less (although he did get a raise from us).

He could be the face of the program for a long long time; kinda like our Joe Pa but without covering up the fondling kids part. Dave Aranda should be the next HC at LSU. Get Orgeron and Alleva OUT!!!!

I don’t think some people understand how lucky we are to have such a meticulous and smart defensive coach right now. If he leaves for the NFL, so be it. If he leaves for another college job, whether it be a lateral DC move or HC, the entire administration needs to be burned to the ground (metaphorically speaking). I’ll reiterate, we are extremely lucky to have him. He needs to be the HCIW or else we truly have a group of retard admins running this program.

Aranda could very well be the next Saban. He has all of the intangibles to do it. I would be 100% behind him as the head coach right now.

He should be the current head coach at LSU.

We're wasting our time with Orgeron. The guy brings nothing to the table, and it's hard to believe that Aranda could do a worse job. At the very least, the LSU brand would be immensely improved by having a defensive savant and philosophy major as the face of the program.

We’d owe him $2.5 mil for 3 more years anyway. We ain’t paying that and Ed’s buyout. End of argument.

such as what intangibles? Aranda has very little in common with Saban. What is going to make Aranda a great HC?

This is the direction LSU needs to go, and sooner than later.

Get rid of Orgeron (wish we could get rid of Alleva...maybe Scott Woodward could make this move).

Aranda is the only answer at this point.

I trust Aranda more than anyone else in the LSU AD to do what it takes to return to elite status.

I want so bad for Aranda to be our head coach. Unfortunately I do not have faith in Alleva to do what's right. In 2 years O will be fired midseason. Aranda will be the interim. He does well in role. Unfortunately, Alleva decides this time he doesn't want to hire the interim, so he goes elsewhere and make another uninspiring hire. Meanwhile Aranda leaves.

Please Alleva do what's right. Give the keys to Aranda.

LSU has proven that defense doesn't win championships. Same with Bama.

I want an offensive guy as head coach.

You don't need an offensive guy at HC to have a good offense. You just need a HC smart enough to recognize and hire good offensive minds.
