With the usual focus being on predictions of new HC hirings, I thought it would be amusing to offer predictions on where the canned former HCs land. So...

Dooley: He went 17-20 in 3 years at LA Tech and 15-21 in 3 years at Tennessee; he has a wide offensive background, serving as RB coach, WR coach, and TE coach; played WR at Virginia; strong point is that he is a solid recruiter. Perhaps he ends up as an offensive position coach and lead recruiter at a school in the SE? Maybe as part of the new staff at Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky? I don't think he gets another HC job but he could be a valuable asset as a position coach.

Chizik: I honestly don't know who would hire this guy to coach anything; his background is defense but he was overrated as a DC and his defenses as a HC have routinely sucked. I'm not sure how good of a recruiter he is due to the influences of Troopah and the Auburn bagmen. Still, maybe he lands a DC gig at some school in the SE or midwest?

Philips: Again, I don't know who would hire this guy to run their offense let alone be a HC. He brings nothing to the table recruiting wise either. I suppose he ends up as an offensive position coach or maybe even OC somewhere in America.

John L. Smith: I just...

He was a really good OC before he became a HC. See all of our bowls under Brooks and 2007. Also a pretty good WR coach.

He's either going to end up on someone's NFL staff as a position coach OR he'll end up with Charlie Strong wherever he goes. They have a pretty close relationship and he's expressed interest in having him on his staff.

Should be on someone's staff somewhere. Very good addition to anyone's program. Just not a coach.

Should retire and live off of his Pat Dye and Cam Newton millions.

Will be an OC again.

Somewhat related but I was talking to an O.Miss fan in his cups after the game, & he went on a rant in regards to HNutt. "One of the biggest ripoffs in the history of SEC football coaches" is O.Miss still paying Nutt over $1M in final payment of his contract. As well Nutt has 2 houses for sale in Oxford, one he bought for his son. I remember that the weenies had to pay Coach Ellender for 10 yrs after he was fired. That may be the biggest ripoff in history !

Really, they are bitching over still paying a buyout when they only just hit the year mark on the firing?

I bet Dooley starts a career in TV with either CBS, ESPN, or the coming SEC Network.

I wouldn't hire Chizik to be a towel boy.

Dude's a clown and even his defenses blow.

Ever wonder that IF something happened in the Cam ordeal, that firing him would make him tell all? He may get a huge buyout to keep quiet. FTR, I think nothing happened, just curious.
