Isn't that Bobby Burton guy the Longhorn who said they were prepared to make an offer just this LAST year as well? Gonna "throw the bank at him" was the phrase he used back in November.
Urban Meyer, just stop. He's at his destination job as well.
To be so well connected...he's not so well connected.

Texas should go get Chip Kelly once he gets fired from the 49ers. Just make sure you have a top notch recruiting staff around him.

Chip would be very, very good with a cupboard full of Texas HS talent.

I think the only way LSU wins a race for Herman against UT is if we give him the full court press and they just have him as one of 3 or 4 candidates they are looking at.

Niners are not firing yet another coach. That would make 4 coaches in 4 years.

They fired Jim Harbaugh because they didn't like him, even though he was wildly successful. Chip Kelly is not well liked either, and isn't going to win anything there. He will be fired after two seasons, at the most.

Keeping Strong an extra year in order to get Kelly shouldn't be scoffed at. It would be an excellent move IMO.

Meh, if Saban really wanted to be at Texas all it would have took was one phone call to Sexton. The money would be worked out. People make it sound like Texas didn't really try. Well, you don't have to. It takes one phone call. I'm pretty dam sure Nick knew they called.

If you heard the Skip interview last week, that's not how it works at all. Saban told the Dolphins no several times before committing and likely told Bama no several times before jumping there.

If UT goes the route of a 65 year old, you're back right here in at most 3 years.

If they'd lured Saban, they'd have at least a NC and a loaded team for the next guy. Obviously that ship has sailed for UT/Saban this time, but i thought last time it was a possibility if UT had pushed hard enough.
