That's the rumor out of Texas per Gerry Hamilton.

quote:

"He was supposed to go in-home with Shazz Preston tonight. Just was talking to Mr. Preston about that. Will check on this..."

quote:

Joseph comes from a football coaching family as his cousin Vance Joseph is the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals, and another cousin, Mickey Joseph, is the wide receiver coach at LSU.

A native of New Orleans, Joseph’s family includes his wife, Amanda, and daughters Taylor and Lynleigh.

That would be a good hire. Keep that New Orleans connection. Guessing this means MIckey is gone for sure he probably made his own bed when he lied.

Interesting. I wonder if he would get a similar defensive passing game coordinator position and safeties? Interesting with Corey and Daronte also being secondary coaches

Back it up Terry. I guess this would mean Mickey isn’t going to Nebraska? Going to need a couple guys on staff with LA connections.

Kelly has sniffed around Raymond before with rumors of wanting to make him DC. Kind of wonder if he goes that route.

What about the paid info from On3 that someone posted on 247? Is that ok?

On3 is relatively new, right? How do their rankings and information compare to other sites?

I think they are pretty good. From my understand, On3 combines Rivals, 24/7 composite, and ESPN rankings to get a sort of consensus ranking for recruits

I'm not sure that an employee concerned about their stability telling their employer that things are going to fall apart without them is the same thing as lying.

He "allegedly" told Woodward that recruits would decommit if he left. That's not really a lie, man. It's a probable situation, and he was speaking to his value on the staff.

Even if Woodward "allegedly" vetted that claim by asking some recruits, why would a recruit tell the AD that they're gone if Mickey goes?

Just saying, he could have made the claim and it may or may not be true ... but even if false it doesn't mean he was lying. He just may have overestimated his worth.

I asked someone earlier to tell me where they say this but they didn't respond. Can you tell me by chance?

I have only seen it here on TD. That's why I used "allegedly". I've seen no proof of it from any reputable source, and yet people keep acting like it's gospel that Mickey lied to Scott about decommitments coming in if Mickey was fired. People need to fact check a lot more before spreading damaging rumors.

I would have to guess he did something to piss the admin off otherwise he wouldn't be headed to a dead end job in Nebraska where he'll probably only last 1 season after they can the HC.

Supposedly he told the admin they would lose recruits if they let him go and they investigated and found the recruits or parents never said anything like this. I'm guessing he didn't do it in a tone like we're thinking but probably gave LSU an ultimatum which they didn't like hence him headed to a dead end job.

I wouldn't mind keeping him for the connections in NO. He's a good recruiter.
