Gruden.
Man if this happens, I will be upset and angry because I really wanted him at LSU once Miles departed. We would instantly get the swagger and discipline that this program needs.

Gruden is not gonna coach College ball. the man is stubborn. He didn't like developing a young QB at Tampa Bay. He sure as hell won't enjoy it at UT or any other college.

What is this fascination with Gruden?
I can understand wanting - Saban , Meyer, Stoops, Patterson and other proven or upcoming college coaches but it has been shown time and again that getting NFL coaches to the college ranks is a hit and miss with the larger number being in the miss category.
This is a completely different ball game not just with regards to the planning games/ NCAA crap/recruiting etc...
It could well turn out that Gruden could be the savior of any program that he goes to but isn't it a safer bet (given history and probability) to go with a proven college coach and pay them more to come here.

Because I want a type of coach with an attitude. A guy that will walk into the press conference and say something like "Lane Who?"
Gruden has what it takes to stamp himself at a program and year in year out kids will want to come play for him and he can establish himself at a place and not leave for a long long time.
I am tired of watching LSU football with Les as our coach knowing that anything and I mean anything can happen at any time of the course of the game that could embarrass him or the program.
What happened at Ole Miss was just down right STUPID. Anyone here think otherwise, please go cheer for someone else.
For a HC in a top tier program to say "I thought I heard timeout being called" was quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard. If the HC of the team that I am pulling for doesn't have control, I want a HC that does and acts like he does and shows that he does.

Gruden will not coach a college team. Ever. Neither will Cowher. Or Fisher.

I am glad that AD and boosters and BOS pay more attention to win/loss records, capabilities at the college level when hiring a coach than the "Swagga and Attitude" factor.
Others without the "Gruden -IT" factor have been successful and it is wiser to not play with the future of a program for just that.
In any case we have to see how Miles fares this year (and maybe the next ) to see if we need anyone this soon at all.

First, Tenn can't afford Gruden, who can get 5-6 mil per, if not more, in the NFL. They are not going to pay that much for a guy who will bolt soon.
Second, I have seen no indication that Gruden has a desire to coach college ball.
Third, I remember some commentary on ESPN to the effect that his broadcast contract is pretty solid and he is not coaching anywhere next year. This came up in the context of potential pro openings.

Miles will be gone next year when we start out 2-4. Anyone who cannot see that Miles has no organizational or leadership skills has no clue what that is anyway.

He is terrible at coaching young QB's. It would be a big risk to hire him.

I noticed that during those first three seasons when he won 11 games in row, when to two SECCGs and won an NC. It was clear as day.

do you think they have looked at these 2 stats:
8-8 over the last 16 SEC games
1-8 against the last top 25 opponents

WTF does that have to do with discussing hiring of Gruden at the college level
Don't make every single fricking post about Miles! This discussion has nothing to do with whether we keep/fire miles.
It really hampers a good discussion if everything is digressed to just fire miles/support miles - the 8-8 record - the 51-14 record!!
