That would be a great hire . The rumor has stop people from claiming that Tennessee can’t get anyone because of the riot over Schiano.

The oil business is shite right now.

There is still high revenue but the margins in that business are shite with the current oil prices.

T Boone makes money on oil even in this market, plus as an investor, overall he's one of the best. If he wanted to and he thought ole Mullet Head was worth it, he could easily afford to pony up 10 mill a year to keep the Grown Man in Stillwater

but I don't think that Oklahoma State is equipped to get into a bidding war with a program like Tennessee.

Lol @ the poors...seriously though, I don't see Gundy coming to Tennessee. Them Oklahoma roots seems too strong to overcome for UT. Money can't buy that.

I think if Ok State gets relatively close on money he stays. You should beat your AD with a tire iron for not targeting Gundy before Schiano

Some of you actually seem to believe that Currie is in the cockpit all by himself in this matter.

I'm not even sure he in the pilot's seat.

I don’t know who is and don’t care. Whoever targeted Schiano before Gundy should have their VFL card taken though

Also part of an AD’s job at a major football program is corralling the boosters and he probably does a shitty job of it

The UT AD looks like he knows nothing about athletics at all. And by his actions, I think that is true.

Per Rucker on TOS

quote:

Just heard Oklahoma State’s biggest booster (good ol’ T. Boone) has no desire to get into another bidding war for Gundy. He just got a raise and extension last year, and it sounds like OkState is not wanting to go through this song and dance every year. Not sure that’ll be enough to completely tip the scales, because obviously Gundy loves OkState and Stillwater, but it’s definitely worth noting that if Tennessee offers a substantial raise to Gundy’s current salary, it might be too much for him to turn down. And we do believe Tennessee is offering him a substantial raise.

Has to be old for the university, regardless though I’m sure there is some backlash against Gundy for even putting them in this position after being extended so recently.

He’s a good coach though and is paid on the lower end

Money has never been a concern for Mike Gundy.

I truthfully think Gundy is using Tennessee to get T Boone off his arse. The guy attempts to run Oklahoma State athletics as if he owned them.
Gundy is the only person who stands up to T Boone.
If Gundy has a way out he can get T Boone to lay off of him.

Tennessee's offer is 8 years $50 million ($6.25m per year), which would be exactly a $2 million raise over what Gundy is currently making.

That would make Gundy the 5th highest paid coach in the country behind Saban, Dabo, Harbaugh, and Urban.

Is he worth that type of money? I mean he’s a very good coach, but seems to be a little much.
