After sidestepping questions about it earlier in the week

quote:

Adam Maya? @AdamJMaya

Tee Martin says he was approached before last week about coaching opportunities and declined them. He has not heard directly from Tennessee and currently does not have anything set up with them. Says his focus is on being at USC but would reconsider if the Vols are interested.

quote:

Kevin Winter @KevinPWinter Former Tennessee QB now USC offensive Coordinator Tee Martin to our @ESPNRadio CFB crew RE Tenn job: "I've heard from everyone in Tennessee, except from Tennessee."

Tee Martin would be a bad hire, a pure nepotism hire from phat Phil so he could have his fat hands even more on the program

So in other words I fully expect it to happen

There's way worse hires we could make instead of bringing a young, hot shot OC and recruiting madman home.

Like Kevin Steele for instance

If the VOLS hire Steele..... they can just hang up FB for a few years.

Serious question. As USC's OC, is Tee fully in charge of the game planning and play calling?

All part of Fulmer's plan.

Clay Helton calls the plays

He's in charge of playcalling but I'm sure Helton has a lot of input on game planning since he's an offensive guy too.

Last night was the first time I've watched an entire USC game and I really, really liked their offense. I thought Tee called a great game and it looked better than anything Tennessee trotted out this year

And time just stood still since he was good?

Apparently time does stand still for many posters here. It's fascinating isn't it?

Would be a mistake. Hes not ready. UT needs an expert program builder. Martin has great potential but just look how much better Lane Kiffin got after coaching with Saban.

Kiffin would have been a fantastic hire. Its a shame those bridges were burned on behalf of his immaturity at the time.

Based off of what? His HC record at baylor 15-20 yrs ago? The guy got his HC shot at 40, so he's got something. Just took on a tough gig.

Other than that why? I would like to know. As a UT guy I've been watching him all season, and the uga and bama games were my gauges. If aub wins again today then I will continue too think he's still my #1 get from the coordinator ranks.

I really think that Martin is the man they've wanted from the onset.

Basically yeah and he’s done nothing but got older if they think he would be a better hire than tee Martin they are nuts. Tee will at least get talent in while he learns and will be better than Steele from day one. Now if get Steele as the DC that would be a good hire. Aranda has done better at lsu than Steele did by far but he may have the best front 7 in football right now so of course he looks great today. I would rather tee over Steele now if tee didn’t want it then maybe Steele but leach would of been a better hire than both of them
