According to the oft-wrong Irontiger on ITAT he has been offered the job. Said "jimbo was acting like Saban" or some such bull shite. I doubt Stoops is looking to leave FSU, but I would actually be pretty excited about that.

Name one good offense outside of Clemson that he has slowed down in the last two years.

Well I know he held Clemson to like 13 or something like that, I don't know much about him to be honest.

PPG is the name of the game. Who gives a crap how many yards you give up if other teams can't score. His defenses have given up over thirty nine times in the last three years.

As you can see, I probably won't be excited about anyone we hire, because I'm negative like that
Cool then please don't take it personal if I disregard any and all future posts.

* Ellis Johnson, current South Carolina defensive coordinator, is Auburn's top choice to be its new defensive coordinator position. Talks between the Tigers and Johnson have been ongoing for a week. However, new developments could affect Johnson and Auburn. Should Larry Fedora take the head coaching job at North Carolina (which is expected to happen soon), it would open a head coaching position at Southern Miss, a position that could be offered to Johnson.

* Auburn has also talked with Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops about the DC vacancy. Stoops just finished his second season as the Seminoles defensive coordinator with the No. 1 defense in the ACC.

* Gus Malzahn becoming the next head coach at Kansas continues to pick up steam. Sources in Kansas think an offer to Malzahn could come soon.

I honestly don't think Johnson leaves for a lateral move. Stoops and Snyder could definitely be in the mix.
