TAF raised the money to end Orgeron's tenure. The majority of the next coach's salary will be paid by TAF. TAF will work with Woodward to hire the next coach. The BOS will have little or no input. Money talks.

I thought the entirety of the coaches salary was paid by TAF. I think little to nothing is paid by the university.

I think the school pays about $600K a year and they can probably veto a choice but I don’t think they can force a specific hire if the TAF doesn’t want to play ball.

If the school thinks they can get their guy for $600K and no TAF pull, maybe we should go ahead and bring Joe Dean back. He always did go down the Dollar Tree route of hiring coaches until someone else forced Saban on him. And the results showed it between Archer, Hellman, and Dinardo.

I wish everyone understood this. Every damn time a coach is fired I cringe when I hear thousands of idiots clamoring "But our tax dollars! Blah-blah-blah!" So freaking annoying.

The LSU system always paid a portion of the coaches salary. While not a huge amount, $500,000 - $600.000, the BOS probably has little say because TAG pays the large majority and comes up with the buyout money if needed. LSU system does not contribute to the buyout
