He actually was mentioned a few times earlier on then silence. This board would melt with a Dabo hire but they're retarded. They don't want a CEOish type coach 3x in a row but this guy is 1000x better than Miles/O will ever be. He has done an amazing job with Clemson and I'm not fully convinced he's a CEO coach.

I share this belief. He's got something brewing.

You're right, like when Ed O was first fired his name was thrown out there and he denied it when asked by a reporter but my point was besides that 1 time, his name has not been on the minds of anyone including the national or local media.

Whoa! Wait a minute...
Could be Brady and you can leave the entire staff in tact.
In 2 or 3 years one of the staff takes over--Mangus?--when Brady heads off for the NFL for good.

You guys miss on Riley so now you’re setting yourselves up for even BIGGER disappointment? Y’all must really love punishment.

He actually was. Some insiders on here reported him. I forgot who but I'm pretty sure it was a credible one. I know all the "insiders" on here shite the bed but some of these guys definitely have connections. Everyone was wrong this time around with bad information.

Ok, Dabo would make a lot of sense.
Fits Woody's MO as a Championship Big Fish.
He can't do any recruiting till O's contract expires after 11/30 so no need to announce till Tuesday or Wednesday...
A little added bonus...isn't he perceived as the heir apparent to little nicky?

Sure. Prolly a pipe dream but if the 3 of them worked together for 2 or 3 years he's going to have the offense down pat.
Peetz goes with Brady to the NFL and the worst you have in Mangus is an OC that runs Brady's Offense.

Sorry but there were reasons. She had a run in with Baylor President Livingston over the new arena location and court/locker room type naming issues. And being closer to home and family with her mother that is older.

The hire has been done since O's termination.
I'm not privy to who, just when it was a done deal and that we'd like the hire...
When it wasn't Riley, I asked what happened to Riley and was told that Riley wasn't the intended target, and that fans would be happy with the hire.
I got a feeling we aren't going to like it no matter what is said about everyone liking it.
I hope I am wrong. Just a bad feeling after the O debacle.

He already has messed it up. He had 2 months to nail down his guy. He has a war chest of money. Still bupkis. He killed the next 2 recruiting classes

Some of you are truly pathetic. What was that Saban quote about LSU fans and catastrophe syndrome?

Time will tell. Scott Woodward's power level will be determined solely by this hire. Football is King.

Riley fits SW’s MO but feel like he never actually wanted him because he didn’t fit here.
because you have to have balls to coach in the SEC...

riley was beaten 3 straight times in the playoffs by SEC teams. he wanted no part of this on a regular basis. He is a soft coward. pussy12 will allow him to keep winning in a weak conference.

Yeah, in every interview after the hiring, Mulkey gave "coming home" as the main reason: “I grew up here,” “I want people to see me do good things here and think, ‘You know what? I can stay home in Louisiana and do good things here, too.' "
Credit to SW for getting the deal done but it there's also too much of a "fell in his lap" element there to compare to other searches.
