Is it safe to say you’re a Sumrall fan?

He says the things every LSU fan should want to hear in interviews, anti-CEO who is hungry, but without knowing much else about the guy what implies it will translate to results here?

I think hiring a defensive coach would be a mistake but I’d be able to stomach him I think

If you don’t think Sumrall would do well at LSU, you’re high AF.

Kids these days need a tough leader that can connect. Sumrall is HIM. He just so happens to know how to coach football really really well.

Furthermore, he has connections in this state from a recruiting standpoint, and is very well liked by all the high school coaches in SE LA.

Although Kiffen is my #1 choice, Sumrall is my #2. LSU would be in really good hands with both.

Could he bring the offensive coordinator and quarterback with him?

LSU should be able to find the best OC on the market with Sumrall at the helm.

QB? He got Mensah before Duke broke the bank for him. Sumrall can work the portal, even at Tulane.

Hopefully we never have to find out because we do not hire him. He can go work at another school and we can all wish him the best.

Were you around for the Saban hire?

LINK

Also, what are you looking for in a coach? Because the last 3 of our National championships were won under 3 head coaches that were considered “underwhelming” hires at the time.

At the end of the day, it’s all about the staff anyway.

2003
Jimbo
Muschamp

2007
Crowton (ehh)
Pelini

2019
Ensminger/Brady
Arranda

Every championship year you had arguably the best DC in the country at the time.

Whoever hires him will have a successful football program at any level.
