Yeah way to catch yourself. I think it also speaks to a coach being able to get a good DC late in the game, because I think he hired Ellis Johnson in like late Jan.

If I am not mistaken by then Petrino had quit and the DC knew he was out of a job. In contrast, we may be waiting to hire an NFL coach who still has a job and a season to finish out.

Not only is it from 2007, but the date it was published was Dec 19. If hiring a DC by Dec 19 is "not wasting time" in making such a change, Les still has about a week and a half to make a choice...or, in other words, he has plenty of time still.
