Nice recovery.....
But seriously, I did see some stuff in there about Nix that made me wonder why this name is popping up on our DC derby speculations. Anybody?

Yeah way to catch yourself. I think it also speaks to a coach being able to get a good DC late in the game, because I think he hired Ellis Johnson in like late Jan.

If I am not mistaken by then Petrino had quit and the DC knew he was out of a job. In contrast, we may be waiting to hire an NFL coach who still has a job and a season to finish out.

you know that's a 2007 article right?
If hiring a DC by Dec 19 is "not wasting time" in making such a change, Les still has about a week and a half to make a choice...or, in other words, he has plenty of time still.

quote:Thanks for the kind word. As for the DC-derby, I swing between being willing to give Miles all the time he needs to get the exact right person for LSU, to a gnawing anxiety that the lack of any visible news is because he's going to do something like what he did last year in giving us Malveto (I was one of those who thought he was actually out looking for a real DC last year) - and so I think: If time runs out and nobody good is out there, will he give us just Mallory this year?

WHY CAN'T MILES GET OFF HIS frickING arse AND HIRE A DC!
He's enjoying the suffering of the rantards too much....he could at least throw us a crumb.
How about a little communication to your fanbase, Lester? Is that too much to ask?

4. Van Gorder was arguably the best D coordinator in the sec during his stint at uga. we still miss him.
