Again, you can get whatever you want out of what he said. But, if SS did not take the Bama job last year, why would he leave this year for LSU. I think he has a point to prove at USC. Also, it is probably apparent to SS that the LSU fan base is nearly as delusional as Alabama's.
I'm not saying he is coming here. My point is, the article doesn't say he's not.
Alabama isn't even as good as South Carolina right now... if his motivation is to come to LSU to win a NC, why would he go to Bama then?

but this article is much more credible than, "my brothers girlfriends uncles aunts, former roomate talked to a booster who knows skip who said that SOS is on board"

I guess?
I haven't "cast my lot" (to use Spurrier's stone cold I'm staying at SC lock statement) in any boat, with any potential coach.
The only guy who I would really rule out is Saban.
As for the rest of them... I'm just along for the fun.

That article looks a hell of a lot more like the author trying to convince himself other then being based on anything definitive Spurrier said.
And I don't believe for a second Spurrier would rather coach Baylor then go someplace where he could possibly win another NC or two in a few years, then retire.

Y'all probably aren't interested in what I have to say about this but here goes anyway.
The author, Ron Morris, is hated throughout the USC fan base. I'm not, but many SC fans are convinced that his goal is to degrade South Carolina at any chance. My take, he didn't like the way Lou Holtz ran our program and created a bad repuation with his constant Lou bashing. However, he's not off base with the things Lou did wrong at USC.
Nevertheless, I think he's right that Spurrier would rather take an unproven job now than jump on a bigtime program like LSU. That's why he came to USC. He wants to do something that no one else has ever done. SOS loves a challenge and loves to try and prove people wrong.
Plus, he's also pledged around $250,000 to USC over the next few years to help bring the things we need to be successful.
Just sayin'. Good luck this weekend. My dad is an LSU fan so I pull for y'all in every game but when we play.
