I won't be upset at all. It's quite simple, Herman did not want to come to LSU. If he wanted to be here, he would be. LSU can't magically hire a coach that doesn't want to be here.

Well, he gets some terrific recruiting classes from Strong, so he will look like a genius with Strong's players.

The only reason anyone is talking about Herman is because of the team he inherited at Houston.

Looks to me like he had the program going the wrong direction--11-1 to 9-3 including a loss to the pathetic SMU team.

I hope they win multiple NC's with him at the helm just to spite us.

Come on, I want this pain to last for years.

To be honest I really wanted Herman at LSU but that was because of Aranda and our defense. It may take Herman a little longer than people think to make Texas a winner. The LSU job was set up perfect for him to come in a win his first season. The ln use that success to keep it rolling. Dont be surprised if his first two seasons are bad at Texas and it is much harder to turn around. That Houston team was also left with pretty good players from Sumlin and it was Houston.

Too much interference from boosters
...It would be hard for any coach not named Saban to build a dynasty in that environment.

It's not like LSU didn't give it a shot. And if he does, good on UT I guess, and Herman. What if 3 years from now he's still trying to get recruiting back up to par and is having the same troubles as Strong (because Baylor, TAMU, TCU, and OK aren't going to concede shite).

What if Orgeron ends up at TN and wins the E two times in a row?

Lot's of what-ifs and hindsight to happen. Just like the 'why didn't LSU recruit _______' threads. Why didn't Stalin's wife shoot him before committing suicide? Why didn't the Aztecs listen to Montezuma's brother and attack Cortez immediately?

He won't and neither will anyone else. The talent is to watered down in the state of Texas now. Between TCU, A&M, and OU recruiting building a deep team is going to be tough.
