All 4 would be great hires.

Agree, but Anderson is the only one who is a realistic hire for USM. The others know they can do better.

Its Kliff Kingsbury's job to turn down. Kliff will also be looked at by SMU

Gcockboi did you gamecock fans have any idea that ELoss Johnson would do as bad of a job as he did this year a Southern Miss.

Kingsbury is like 25. I think he needs a little more time to learn how to run a team himself

Kingsbury is 33 and is more than capable IMO

Honestly I thought he would do a much better job because he was an outstanding DC.

Hud is making more here than Ellis Johnson was making at USM. Southern Miss just went 0-12 and CUSA and the Sun Belt aren't much different, doubt he leaves.

Who he Hell is he?

Norte Dame DC

Yeah, not offensive guy, but is young, fiery, and a hell of a recruiter. Coming from ND will give him instant credibility with fan base and recruits.

He's just kind of my dark horse since all the other candidates have been mentioned.

Phil Montgomery, Baylor oc, is another

What about this scenario: No big time school wants to take the baggage of Petrino into their school. Would he consider USM? He's won a C-USA championship before.

I think Petrino is intriguing but I think it is unlikely. It's just a matter of if a big time program will give him that initial second chance or will he have to work his way back up.

He would be a HUGE hire for USM.

That would be a total culture clash for USM and a bad fit, IMO.

They should go with Chris Scelfo. Former Tulane HC and current falcons TE coach. Did decent at Tulane until he decided to punt on third down.

I think Kentucky was Petrino's only shot at an SEC job

No way to scelfo. He's loving his current gig anyway from what I hear

I wouldn't be surprised if Southern Miss hired a JUCO coach if the financial situation is as bad as people say.
