jets playcalling has been pretty iffy in spots this year, kind of like the ravens.

they both tend to shy away from what is successful (running the damn ball) and get pass happy.

i would imagine saban would keep him in check and the offense would be more run-centric every game

I like to think the source of the problem on offense is Rex Ryan. Word is he has become quite the micromanager. But, you are correct, I have a feeling that Saban will have Schottenheimer adjust his offense to fit Saban's philosophy.

Not a fan, but most anyone can take orders from Saban.

Sounds like he'd be going from one micromanager to another.

Rex lets him have complete control unless the offense starts floundering, then Rex will become more of a factor. When Rex takes over, it because the Jets aren't running the ball well.

Schottenheimer is garbage, can't call a game to save his life and isn't that hot of a QB coach. I"m gonna cut to the point unlike my previous statements, he's responsible for Drew Brees' inconsistency in San Diego. He's not a teacher, he cover up his QBs flaws instead of fixing them...

I don't know anything about him so I'm not trying to defend him, but the Jets did pretty well the past 2 or 3 years(not including this one obviously)... why so much hate?

I've seen 6 years too many of him(Jets fan).

It's not a talent problem with the Jets, it's execution. He can scheme a play, but he's not that good at calling an actual game. He's not a great QB mentor either, and even though Sanchez isn't exactly the top quality of clay, he didn't have much success with one of the top QBs in the NFL either.

3 specific games this year made my disdain for his abilities grow:

1) Eagles Game: They figured out the playcalling and said as such post game
2) Giants Game: He called 60+ pass attempts with Sanchez
3) Dolphins Game: He pulled the Jets best WR for a blocking WR on the last drive of the season.

I'm not gonna harp on him every game like Bench did with McElwain, but he's gonna have to do a major 180 to change my opinion of him...
