Told people this in another thread (along with some TCU news). Was told I didn't know anything. Okay then.
McGuire is going to be the Texas Tech HC.

So Napier must have turned them down then?

Napier was under consideration at TCU I believe.

I've heard Keeler at Sam Houston for Tech. He's nothing to sneeze at.

Is this another Chad Morris situation? I dont know much about the man besides the years of HS Coaching

I believe he was brought in by Rhule on his first staff @ Baylor and retained by Aranda. Not exactly like Morris because he’s never been a coordinator or a HC at this level.
Lubbock newspaper article

It appeared the position would go to Jeff Traylor, coach of unbeaten UT-San Antonio and the Tech search committee's first target. But shortly after interviewing with Tech, Traylor agreed to a new 10-year, $28-million contract to stay at UTSA.

Tech also spoke to SMU coach Sonny Dykes, Oklahoma defensive coordinator Alex Grinch and Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn, the former Red Raiders running back. Among the others given some level of consideration were Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, Liberty coach Hugh Freeze, former Baylor coach Art Briles and Leach.

“Coaching Changes that DaBeerz Cares About”
Thank you

yea that and his connections are the only reason i see them going in this direction. If you cant beat UTSA for a coach.....WTF are you even doing??

I’ve heard Wells was fired for more than his win-loss record. He had really struggled building relationships and recruiting in Texas.
McGuire should definitely help with recruiting,
