He probably got tired of working for Orgeron, but if he has aspirations for a big time HC gig, I find it hard he would say no.
I remember him saying his daughters loved the outdoor life in Louisiana, so maybe there's some pull to the area.

I think maybe he has eyes on a job like Cal if it were to open up in a year or two. He’s a west coast guy. I think he also felt when he was here that some of our athletes couldn’t quite grasp all the nuances of his defense (there’s a video of him discussing this at a coaching clinic) but damn it I want to believe. Rather him than the names being thrown out

Have to give it to him for hiring Grimes. Thought Grimes was going to a lot bigger place than Baylor. Thought he was a perfect fit for OC at LSU because of his experience coaching OL. Would love to see Grimes come with Dave if he were to get hired.
