Will they follow the blueprint of schools like Alabama and Michigan and get serious about going after and paying up for top coaching talent, or will they succumb to a ridiculous PR campaign made to drum up support to hire a glorified position coach who failed miserably in his only head coaching job?

This decision will determine whether we take the next step towards becoming truly elite by bringing in an offensive guru to complement Aranda's defense, or if we descend into mediocrity until the entire Administration is replaced.

Choose carefully.

They are serious and don't call them shirley.

That's why they are about to hire Orgeron. Way to go LSU

It would be funny if it wasn't so predictable and pathetic. As with the Les Miles debacle at the end of last year, they'll take the path of least resistance which no other top tier college football program that is serious about winning would take in the same situation.

When Orgeron is losing 3-5 games per year you people better own up to it.

But you won't, you'll look for someone else to blame.

It's just ridiculous what's going on

These were all games we'd win regardless this season. We were even favored to.

The sec is down but it will get better.

Need to go an entirely new direction to get over the humo, especially if the SEC ups its game again. Get a freaking proven offensive HC if you aren't ready to hire Aranda.. but lock down one side of the ball please..

Don't matter who is hired, the fanbase has been divided again. No matter who is chosen, they'll never have full support of the fans

SAD COMMENTARY FOR EVEN THINKING ABOUT HIRING O, GIVEN THE EXCELLENT CREDENTIALS MORE EXPERIENCED COACHES HAVE.THAT KIND OF BACKWARDS ARSE THINKING IN LOUISIANA IS EXACTLY WHY TRUMP WON EASILY IN THIS STATE.

It will be coordinator musical chairs and they will take the blame.

We've already been there and done that.

I've thought it over and calmed down. One individual with rational though isn't gonna frick this up. Alleva will come through and make a rational decision. Not some emotional political one.

Either that or he's as good as gone.

We already know... They pay a $10 Million buyout to save a buck and potentially hire a unqualified candidate.

joe alleva is not making any decision in a vacuum. I don't care what he says, he's not the decision maker. he's the scapegoat if things go wrong but he's told who to hire.

Well, at least they would be consistent. They allowed the decline to fester, so this would keep the momentum going.

Yep. The cult of Les Miles has found its new object of adoration in CEO. They are acolytes for mediocrity.

This is kind of my thinking. Joe is playing a little lip service to the public. When he hires Jimbo or Herman he will say we hired the best candidate for the job with the best credentials and that Coach O was very much in consideration. I really don't think O is really going to be our next coach. I just don't think Alleva puts his job on the line for him. I wouldn't if I was in his shoes.
