I don’t want Mullen. I can deal with anybody else . Whomever it is , will have to adapt to Saban’s offense anyway with a few of their own wrinkles thrown in. That has been his pattern . Hell , Mac Jones was teaching BOB the offense before he left for the draft so I don’t expect much change. Saban did say earlier in the year , that they tailored a lot of the offense for Bryce and that Bama would probably be more RPO based next year so I asssume it will be somebody who is at least familiar in that offense

I will say that Mullen is a good football coach and would probably do great ( if Saban can stand him ) but he is an arrogant prick

i thought saban wanted to go back to more run oriented style similar to UGA? were those rumors not true?

I think those were more wishful thoughts by some Alabama fans that want to “run the damn ball”. I think the offense changes but back to more like it was under Kiffin and Sark. Less of the rigid NFL stuff that O’Brien employed. The base offense Alabama has run since 2014 is going to remain.

Offensive coaches have always been running their own offenses under Saban. Saban just controls what they do and how they do it to keep their egos in check, but for the most part he let's them install and run their system. All spread rpo systems look very similar, so that's why it seems like Alabama can have a new OC every 2-3 years and not miss a beat. A Joe Brady, Greg Roman, or Kliff Kingsbury type hire would be a MASSIVE departure from Saban's most recent formula. Brady is more a prostyle spread, Roman is a traditional prostyle, and Kingsbury is full on Air Raid. Out of those three, Brady would fit Alabama the closest. It would be whether or not he's learned how to coordinate an entire offense and not just the passing game. But, I don't think he gets any of those three since two are in the NFL and one is on long term paid vacation.

Brady has no interest in coaching in college at this point. People need to stop with this shite. The guy has all but said “I have no interest in coaching in college”

He took the job at LSU to fast track himself to a bigger job and it worked bc he had an All Pro team for an offense not bc he was some genius.

No. They have ran the Alabama offense with their own touches added to it. Very well documented on that. Like I say , Mac Jones was teaching BOB terminology, audibles etc the semester before he left for NFL. Lane added to it some when he got there and Lockskey added some RPO but since then it has been the same

yea was pretty much kiff and sarks OG offense, then lockskey added some rpo, daboll added some NFL concepts sark then improved and updated everything, then bob came in and pretty much ran same thing but he tweaked things to focus on Young's ability and added more rigidity to it

i dont want to see a Sark type offense there as an LSU fan. all the others...were very good but sark had it humming at a different level

Just hope Saban gets someone who can use the talent we have , has awareness to situations , and can scheme guys open like the good OCs do every Saturday … so that means it prolly won’t happen

Brady isn't great and hates recruiting. I'd be happy if Bama hired him.

Joe Brady had an NFL pro-bowl team on offense in college. His abilities are dramatically overexaggerated.

It’s a plus when they do , but coordinators don’t have to recruit as much as others . Pete did and was good at… BOB not as much

Sure, but there are other options out there that are both better at coordinating and are good recruiters.

For sure . I wished we would get a young college OC really instead of an NFL retread . Brian Johnson would be fine if he is a serious candidate though . Saban keeps it quiet so I don’t think anybody really knows who he is considering

If Milroe is the guy, Mullen would be a great hire.

That’s true. It would be hard for me and I would hate pulling for Mullen . He is a good coach though

Mullen would be the perfect OC/QB coach if Milroe is the starting QB!!!

Fits Mullen's system perfectly

Does a guy like Eric Bienemy consider throwing his name in the hat if he has passed over once more for an NFL HC job?

What? You mean he wants to be at the college level and have to recruit? I don't see that happening. I guess you must hate the Chiefs that bad to see the team fall off on offense next year if he is gone. Nothing about why LSU OC and DC can get NFL job and one of them really want to be in the NFL.
