It's hard to believe they let this go on much longer.

He really is done. These meetings are over the package he gets.

The only thing to be discussed is will Mack stay on in a fund-raising capacity with a nice cushy job/salary or will he be unceremoniously dumped and kicked to the curb.

Depends on how much pride Mack has.
Personally I'd negotiate the biggest severance package of all time and give them the birds

He can now go fishing with Bobby Bowden.

They are discussing if Mack thinks he can handle the load for 3-4 more years.
Seems crazy A&M goes 8-4 with one if the best college players of all time and their coach gets a raise and Mack goes 8-4 with a terrible qb and has to deal with this.

1) it is sad to see Mack being forced out, but that's the nature of a business where enormous expectations are hard to maintain
2) the perceived trend at Texas has been bad for four years running - including a 5 win season in 2010
3) recruiting is becoming a more obvious problem, Texas is doing better than many schools but no longer dominates their recruiting area
4) different conferences and level of competition are factors in their respective records this year, FWIW I think A&M overpaid for Sumlin rather than risk being embarrassed by his loss to another high power program.

Mac and his brother Watson are forming a comedy duo...they plan to do improv at airports and train stations...Greyhound wouldn't entertain the thought but I guess the Iron Dog's customer base wouldnt "get it" anyway.

If you look at it in a single year, yes.
But if you really believe both things are equal... yeah, then I can't help you.

One thing I don't understand about the situation is this -- Mack seems obsessed with keeping his job and "fixing" the situation, yet he's a notoriously lazy recruiter and even used the phrase "killing himself out here" when talking about a simple recruiting trip to Florida.
