it is actually a step up to begin a steady head coaching career which then turns into a FBS HC job? absolutely. a FCS HC job won't bankrupt him. he is a damn good coach.

Tennessee still hasn't hired an offensive coordinator?

Pruitt is having some issues, I see.

Meh. Not sure he’s been turned down by anyone except maybe Yurcich

Well that’s the thing—it’s a 2-way relationship, and he seems to wear out his welcome pretty quick.

I think so too. I didn’t like his offense at all, but I thought he did a really good job at Maryland this year given the circus there. He may just need full control somewhere to really shine. He shouldnt just take any lower level gig, but if he finds a place where he thinks he has a chance to be relatively successful over a 3-4 year period, it may be worth the little less pay to catapult himself to a better job down the road.

One of the names that’s been bandied about is Matt Canada, who has been the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin, NC State, Pittsburgh, LSU and Maryland.

Pruitt reportedly talked to Canada this week. But according to a report from John Brice, the Vols have decided to move on.

Fine with this, if we can also get Tee Martin as CO-OC QB Coach, it's a home run.

He was Boston Colleges HC/OC back during the Matt Ryan days. I just looked up his wiki. What a weird arse career path. Currently an OC at Notre Dame HS in Chattanooga

There's really not a big deal with this taking this long. Pruitt could have his eye on someone still coaching in the NFL playoffs, too. Saban has gone well into January and even February to fill coaching vacancies. UT recruited pretty well, so it doesn't seem like the OC hire dragging out is hurting them there. Take your time and get the right guy.

Would be a good hire for Tennessee. Seems like Canada would get a head coaching offer at a smaller like Troy .

Word is both are miserable to work with, maybe they’ll find common ground in their unlikeableness?

Guess it didn’t take Fulmet and Pruitt long to figure out he’s an a-hole

hey bastard, you underestimate the difficulties in others working with Canada. it ain't the other way around like you are stating as fact.

Canada knows his stuff but he thinks he runs the show and his bosses seem to take issue with that. how strange.
