Yep.

I thought his strength was he let nothing stop him from getting his man.

Was he supposed to hold a gun to his head and not let him leave until he signed?

The guys entire career is up north, minus a quick stint with the Texans as a LB. If he has HC aspirations and will only be at the school for a year or 2 as DC, it probably made more sense to not venture too far away from home before his big move.

He was suppose to at least have enough of an established rapport to seal the deal without it leaking. Or if the threat of another offer was imminent the opportunity for a counter.

Really! WTF has this guy done?!?!? 1) He hired his boy Bo and paid him a ridiculous contact. 2) Got beat by ND for a defensive coordinator.

Overrated!

Scott’s unproven. Anybody who could offer Jimbo 75 million would have signed Jimbo. He needs a signature moment here. He’s shown ZERO up to this point.

People have free will. It doesn’t matter how good he is. If Freeman preferred Norte Dame, that’s it.

Thinking he wasn’t abled to throw a lot of guaranteed money at the OC and DC because of Os job status.

I want to see who their second choice is. That will tell me a lot.

I don't think any reasonable offer would have beat out ND for Freeman. What was Woodward going to do, convince him that Louisiana was closer to home?

At least some of people the coaching staff was told it’s done.

I am curious who told them that. That’s how I eventually heard and why I was so confident.

Maybe they could not come to terms. Both parties had to walk away. If you want to judge, do it after we see what their BATNA is and if it is a good one or not. It happens sometimes. Freeman may not have been reasonable. Maybe Woody walked away.

I highly doubt you heard a freaking thing. If I didn’t hear anything from my TAF connection I know you damn sure didn’t. It was never “done”. This was not all about upfront or guaranteed money. I’ll leave it at that.

Keep a fricking lid on the situation and move on when it became clear it wasn’t happening. He lost control of the narrative and his people and he looks as bad as O right now because of it.

Will you people stop with this “closer to home” bullshite?

That applies if you’re an assistant manager at Kinko’s with no money in the bank to make a move and have to choose between being transferred to South Bend or Baton Rouge.

When you’re a nationally sought-after DC who can set your family up for life regardless of how the job turns out, you do NOT leave a million dollars or more on the table to be “closer to home.”
