You don’t fire JIMBO unless you had a plan in place. Especially with the size of the buy out. But then you revert back to thinking who and what is making the decisions. Then it all starts making sense again.
In the words of my son yesterday.. and this sums it up ..

I can’t believe Aggie paid $78M to fire Jimbo within a plan. Why would any top coach want to be a part of their ridiculousness?

Jimbo was fired for reasons that included, but went way beyond, his win/loss record.

This is the issue.
Wildly incompetent people will make a hiring decision for a fanbase that won't be satisfied by any realistic candidates and it is all funded by boosters who hate each other and who know as much about college football as the average Japanese housewife.

There's an article at The Athletic on it that was interesting.
A lot of similarities with the Paul Chryst experience at Wisconsin.
