In the Infographic thread it points to Pitt only allowing 9 sacks. Maybe some of this is his scheme but the huge YPC stat suggests at least some amount of downfield passing, making the protection numbers more impressive. So does he bring his OL coach with him, or keep Grimes?

I'll be interested to see what happens here. Grimes is pretty good recruiter. But his player development is questionable at best IMO....

Whatever he does we better sign our offensive line recruits (Austin Deculus!) and then he can hire/fire whoever he wants.

I agree with this. I'm sure he'll talk to Grimes and then make a decision.

He had new starters across the line. He did a good job. Underrated and underappreciated among our fans.

Grimes needs to go. He's done a terrible job with the talent we have.

But.. one could argue it was the offensive scheme that didn't get the most out of our talent.

People keep saying this, but we graded out as having the best OL in college football this year by pro football focus.

yep. i'd love to see a new guy. But, grimes was under miles. who knows what he would have done different. I can't blame him for making wholesale changes during the middle of the season. the cure may have been worse than the disease.

so, trust the coaches on this one.

And injuries were a problem. Chill on on Grimes

This is true, but they're also undisciplined and scared of Bama. We had a ton of OL penalties this year.

I just don't know how they came to this conclusion. I'm sure there's a very logical, well formulated measurement for this but our line wasn't great this year compared to previous years, particularly at pass blocking.

Not hard to pass block on play action.

really? spoken like you've done this? so it's easy to sell a run block then transition to pass protection?

we played poorly, but i wouldn't say scared. this statement reeks of someone who has never played on the line

The first coach that Canada thanked in his speech at his Broyles Award Ceremony was his OL coach John Peterson.
