In the event KS leaves, would Sal become DC or would yall search for someone?

I dont think so. We may be after 2 coaches andone will have to be comfortable with the 34 scheme enough for planning and game day. I don't know if Sal is that guy. Wish the best for KS. Great guy and coach.

Sunseri promoted, or Grantham hired. He's worked with Saban in the past, and Saban tried to hire him in 2007.

i would think sal would get the call but he hasn't been a DC in 11 years. seems like a safe choice though.

i agree; but you should be nervous anytime you have to replace a coordinator. SC fans were fully confident in their new OC/DC because they just plug in the next guy and the wins roll in until this year. remember opie cunningham as OC?
I would worry with replacing an OC, but as long as Saban is at Alabama I won't worry with the defensive staff.

I believe will be a great hire for Georgia. I personally am one Tiger fan that likes Mark Richt and pull for you guys other than we you play us. Believe me , Smart hasnt coached under Saban without garnering some of his knowledge. Hope that it works out for you Bulldogs.

quote:There was an article in a Baton Rouge paper that said he just got a new contract at LSU because of the offer from UGA. They actually had some figures of what UGA offered and what his new deal at LSU will be but I don't remember what they were.
We talked to Chavis but who the hell knows if he actually got a commitable offer

where did WG go?
He's probably trying to find new sources. I can't believe both LSU and Alabama's DC's are staying at their current schools. UGA is at least on par with those 2 programs lol

Well, considering he has an offer on the table and has been in contact with our staff since before the SECCG, and we're doubling his salary, and he is from here and has family here, and it would be a beneficial career move...I'd say it means he's going to be announced as our new DC within 48 hours.
You just laid out why it would be an absolute disaster if Georgia somehow doesn't land Smart.
