Should the Raiders give Bisaccia the HC job?

They’ll be under pressure from players and some fans to make the move, but this season was very unique for them, and I feel like he’s probably already hit his ceiling. He’s an old ST coach. If he has HC chops, don’t you figure he’d have gotten a chance prior to now?

Then again, I love the guy’s demeanor. Players love him. He doesn’t appear to be a jackass who is going to embarrass the organization.

I’d definitely interview some guys, but the Raiders have made “bad decisions at every level” their entire brand.

There’s a lot to consider.

Seems really high risk, considering he was basically an interim for a team that Gruden helped to build and develop. But, like you said, this is the Raiders. Most players seem to always love the interim.

How many times has hiring the interim worked out?

Maybe their first and second choices will say no, they'll panic and remove the interim tag, they'll win a Super Bowl, Bisaccia will start banging random blondes, and the team will implode.

Mark Davis and management need to sit down with Bisaccia to see if he can lay out a plan for his coaching staff and offseason moving forward. If he sounds like a coach with a vision you believe in, keep him. If not, move on.

I’d imagine with the Rooney rule, he will have to actually interview even if it’s a formality.

Only if he lets them read every email he’s ever drafted

Conventional wisdom would be no, but the 4 teams the Raiders beat to make the playoffs had their own playoff aspirations heading into those games, so it's not like they snuck in playing the Jets or the Texans. It was kind of impressive considering nobody would've blamed Bisaccia had the season fallen apart.

Is there another hire out there that would be a slam dunk over him at this point?

I would not hire him. The players always want to hire the interim, and players are the last people to whom you should listen when hiring a head coach.

Did he ever coach a game? I think Auburn hired him, then he jumped back to the NFL a few weeks later.

No that’s how you end up with an Orgeron.
